Words

  1. Waivers: all partipants must sign the event waiver. All participants must sign in for every event.
  2. Insurance and registration: all riders must have a valid CyclingBC license or UCI license sanctioned for racing in Canada. One-event insurance is not offered.
  3. Upgrades (or downgrades):
    1. Official upgrade: return old number, get a new number.
    2. Discretionary: make a request to the WTNC captain (or use web form); decision rendered at the next race.
    3. Compelled: competitors who exhibit superior -- or lack of -- skills relative to their peers may be reclassified at the discretion of the organizer.
  4. Fees: a participant in good standing without sufficient funds to participate, may enter after promising to repay the debt; no more than 2 outstanding loans are allowed.
  5. Season pass, numbers: these items are non-transferable and apply solely to their registered owners.
  6. Women participants: female competitors may join an appropriate male race group, but must start with the group and cannot rejoin the pack if dropped. Each race entered incurs an entry fee.
  7. Number bibs: competitors must wear their number bibs during the race. It should be worn over the right side rear pocket of the jersey.
    1. Lost: a new bib is re-issued.
    2. Forgotten: a one-event temporary bib is issued.
    3. Upgrade/downgrade: (see Upgrades section above).
  8. Prize collection: cash prizes are distributed at the last race of the year. A typical payout will be $5 per point, adjusted downwards if pack sizes are small. A minimum of 5 points must be accumulated to qualify for a cash prize. If the winner cannot claim their prize in person, arrangements should be made for someone else to collect it on their behalf. Alternatively, the winner can send a self-addressed stamped envelope and their number bib to the race organizers and the cheque will be mailed to them.
  9. Disputes: disputes of race results must be lodged with the finish line official at the end of the race. All decisions made by the finish line official are final.
  10. Code of conduct: participants are expected to behave at all times in a safe, respectful manner toward competitors, officials, and the public. Discourteous or unsafe behaviour, such as but not limited to swearing, fighting, public urination, dangerous riding, abusive or unsportsmanlike conduct, non-payment of fees, or disregarding instructions by race officials, may result in a warning, penalty, or expulsion, at the discretion of the organizers.
  11. Weather: the event is cancelled if it is raining. This is determined close to event start time.
