Welcome to dEVo, the youth-development team of Escape Velocity. dEVo stands for development and Escape Velocity. The dEVo philosophy is simple; Find kids that are interested in riding bikes, give them a supportive team atmosphere, teach them the skills they need to excel in the sport and most importantly MAKE IT FUN!

The dEVo BMX program will make its debut in the 2007 season under the direction of Steve Fenning with the assistance of Parents.
Steve Fenning is a director of the parent club Escape Velocity and comes to BMX from the Road and Track scene. He has been active as the Track Director of Action BMX in Surrey going into his third year. At the end of last season began his introduction into racing BMX cruiser.

Founded in August 1989, Team Escape Velocity is a Lower Mainland based cycling club committed to promoting and developing the sport of cycling in Canada. With membership ranging from novice Cat 5 riders to Canadian National Team members and North American champions. We pride ourselves in our community involvement, race organization, youth development, and leadership activities.
The vision is to form a racing club/team under the Escape Velocity banner that offers youth riders between the ages of 4-21 an opportunity to develop the skills needed to have fun and advance in the sport of BMX.

Q. Who can join Team dEVo BMX?
A. If you are between the ages of 4-21 and want to be part of a team that wants to develop local, national and international racers, you can join.
Q. How much is it to join dEVo?
A. The cost is $75 which entitles each member to 1-Jersey, 1-T-shirt, 1-Sponsor hat, 1-water bottle and discounts at our sponsor’s stores (Wenting Cycle-Mission and La Bicicletta-Vancouver).
Q. Do we have to race every race?
A. No. While dEVo is a racing club, it’s about having fun and racing as much or as little as you like.
Q. Do Parents have to volunteer at every race?
A. We’d like you to, BUT, we’re also realistic, therefore it’s not a requirement. Volunteering is part of dEVo membership. Without volunteers the sport will die, so we ask that you help at the track when you can.
Q. Do kids have any volunteer responsibilities?
A. Yes. Supporting your local track is part of being a member. When your track has a work party, Members will support that track by coming out and pitching in. Even as little as one hour is great.
Q. Will there be skills clinics during the season?
A.Yes. The plan is to hold coached clinics and camps to teach skills to new racers and improve the skills of the seasoned racers.
Q. How will the clinics be funded? Are they free to members?
A. The clinics will be free to members and will be funded through our sponsorships.
