dEVo: Youth Development
Welcome to dEVo, the youth-development team of Escape Velocity. dEVo stands for development and Escape Velocity. The idea behind dEVo is simple. Get young racers (under 23) from BMX, road, track, and off-road involved in racing of all kinds.
Founded in 1999 by Escape Velocity with Jeremy Storie as its leader, the program has developed a number of National and International caliber riders. In 2007, the program adopted a 4-tiered fee structure that aims to provide high-quality coaching and progress riders from "brand-new" to the sport, all the way to national championship racing.
Escape Velocity subsidizes the dEVo program in order to ensure young cyclists have as many opportunities as possible to excel in cycling. Current benefits include travel subsidization, a free jersey and shorts with annual membership, and product sponsorship packages and discounts from club sponsors (Powerbar, Louis Garneau, La Bicicletta, and Wentings Cycles). Benefit vary based on the dEVo level joined.
dEVo hosts the EV Spring Road Race Series in March every year at a variety of courses in beautiful Langley, B.C. dEVo members are expected to volunteer time at three to four of these races. In return for your time, trips are planned to various road stage races, and track races. All trips will be run and organized by a certified coach and/or experienced adult. All riders in dEVo programs help to run the Spring Series races and learn the organization and commitment that is required to not only be successful on the bike, but as an organizer and leader in the sport of cycling.

Come and join dEVo to experience great racing, training and coaching. Open to all levels of U-23 riders both male and female from road, track, and off-road.

About "The Coach" Jeremy Storie
Jeremy Storie is an NCCP Level 3 certified cycling coach currently
completing his Level 4 certification. Jeremy has been involved in
cycling in a myriad of avenues for the past 20 years. Jeremy's
areas of involvement include: racer at the national level, race
organizer, coach, official, race announcer, professional team
director, mechanic and program director. Jeremy coaches Symmetrics Cycling Team professionals Marsh Cooper, Jeff Sherstobitoff and Naomi Cooper. Both Coopers along with Cameron Evans were former dEVo team members. While these riders have gone on to represent Canada at international competitions including World Championships, the dEVo program riders and Jeremy treat all riders, regardless of ability, equally. Our goal is to provide a positive cycling experience for all.
