About Chris
Born in Edmonton, grade school in Vancouver and high school in Toronto, then back to Vancouver for University and a job. Working for the GVRD as a Professional Mechanical Engineer while keeping a balance in my life and enjoying the journey with my family.
Started road racing in 2002, after participating in the Pacific Populaire randonneur ride on a mountain bike with slick tires. The challenge and excitement of trying to ride with the fast guys inspired me to purchase a road bike and start racing as a Cat 4 with Team Campione in 2003 and then Team Coastal in 2004. Upgraded to Cat 2 in 2005 and joined Escape Velocity in 2006.
Family fun includes reading, skiing, beach holidays, walking the dog, mountain biking and windsurfing at Nitinat - but especially in Hawaii! Trying to learn Flamenco guitar, much harder than learning to windsurf.
Favourite Ride: Around West Maui and the ride-up Haleakala - but beware bonking above 8,000 feet!
Favourite race: Columbia Plateau stage race, hopefully it comes back soon!
