About Joe
While I have been self-coached for the most part, I have been lucky to ride with some really experienced racers. I have used some cool cycling tools (heart rate monitors/computers/wattage meters) but at the end of the day, I think it comes down to finding the time, discipline and motivation to push yourself to the next level. When it comes to racing, I believe it is all about the bigring! I like courses that are fast and technical. My favorite race is definitely Chin Picnic Crit, which is always fast, has tons of fans, a bikini contest, and you ride on the Moslon Indy track . I had a 14th place finish at Provincials in the Cat 1/2 field.

As a cyclist who races both mountain and road, I have had the opportunity to ride in some very amazing places. Some of my favorites include Colorado, South Carolina Blue Ridge Parkway ride from Table Rock (epic ride), Santa Cruz California, Durham Forest, and Horseshoe Bay. Cycling has also provided me with a chance to organize a Non-profit Learn to Mountain Bike clinic for high school students and hold the position as Club President for Bicycles Plus grew Club membership.

Outside of racing, I am a sales representative in the Cycling/Ski industry for Louis Garneau Sports for BC. I also enjoy traveling, hockey, hiking, and snowboarding.

A message from Joe: “Ride your bike as much as possible. Always have fun with racing and training then you won’t get burn out.”
