Westside Vancouver born and raised, on the soccer pitch is where I spent most of my days. After spending my entire school career chasing after a ball on a whim I went out for the novice rowing team at UBC and spent the following three years waking up at 4:45am to train on the dark, cold waters of False Creek. For my summer job in my second year I purchased a mountain bike for commuting and to do some cross training. By the end of the summer I was hooked. The following year I got a road bike and tried some of the Spring Series races when the rowing season ended. My rowing fitness allowed me to keep up with the pack and luckily I followed some good advice and joined dEVo, which has been for me and remains a great club and an ideal environment for young cyclists to learn the sport. Graduating to the Cat 1/2 EV squad was a natural progression from dEVo and I’m looking forward to racing with a great team for 2008.
