Weight: 77 kg - Big enough to be jealous of the climbers on 54cm bike frames.
Currently Resides: Downtown Vancouver (actually a great base for riding - easy to reach UBC, North Shore, etc.)
About Paul
I grew up in Victoria on Vancouver Island, which is still one of my favorite places to ride. It's almost too long ago to remember why I got into racing, but I'd guess it was due to watching the successes of Steve Bauer and Greg Lemond in the late 80's. I remember I showed up as a teen to a Victoria Wheelers group ride in jogging pants. It was my longest ride ever but one of the older riders stayed with me when I bonked. I stubbornly showed up again the next weekend. I took some time off for before getting back into racing in about 1999.
I really enjoy the challenge and teamwork involved in racing. I also love the training, especially in great weather and scenery.
Outside of racing
I am a self-employed consultant-programmer. I also enjoy traveling and spending time with my wife.
