Poitras Qualifies Canada for the 2007 Pan American Games

Since returning home from the Commonwealth Games at the end of March, I've stayed fairly local with the exception of the Pan American Championships in Brazil and the National Road Championships in Quebec City.

Highlights of the last couple months include racing the Pan American Championships with the Tim Hortons Canadian National Team where I qualified Canada a Road Race spot for next year's Pan American Games. Other notable races include my victory at the Warp Speed Time Trial and Harris Roubaix Road Race in less than ideal conditions (see picture attached). It has been a successful couple months of racing for the Symmetrics women with victories in every Pacific Northwest event we've entered.

Having just returned home from the Tim Hortons National Road Championships, our preparation is now focused on BC Superweek (unfortunately I had to pull out of both the Nationals road race and criterium due to a hamstring injury). Superweek commences on Friday, July 14th with the Giro de Burnaby, followed by the Tour de White Rock (July 15-17), Tour de Gastown Criterium (July 19), and the Tour de Delta (July 21-23). With my victory at Harris Roubaix, and numerous other podium finishes, I am heading into Superweek as the current BC Cup leader. We're looking forward to some strong team performances throughout Superweek.
