Two to go; One week; He walked away

No big news, but lots of little news. Let's do this.

Two WTNC races left, and only one for points

This week is the last race that counts for the year's WTNC standings, as we award trophies on August 31. In order to get you pumped, I'm embedding Jennifer Wolowic's tribute to WTNC, and it's way cooler than your club's bike video. Sorry to be harsh, but you know it's true. You owe it to yourself to watch it in HD fullscreen with the sound up.

(Fun fact: one of the on-bike cameras used for this video is currently on a helicopter, searching for Tyler Wright.)

Less than one week before the BCTT

SUNDAY! SUNDAY! SUNDAY!

I know, it's only the BC Time Trial Championships, not a World event like Tuesday Nighters, but there's jerseys and medals! Tune your position, taper after the Tuesday Nighter, and we'll see you in Abbotsford. One more reminder, but signing up for the Team Time Trial includes free entry for each rider into the ITT, is cheaper than registering four ITT riders, and is available through pre-registration ONLY. ITT entries can be registered day-of, but you can also pre-register, and you'll save up to $20.

And He Walked Away

Ted, after organizing the Escape Velocity/Garneau Evolution Children's Hospital charity ride to Whistler and back, rode about 240 km with a group of stalwart and charitably minded teammates, and got pranged by a van near Horseshoe Bay with 10 to go.

His bike will never walk again, but Ted suffered cuts, bruising [update: and a cracked collarbone...] and a certain loss of faith in the ability of drivers to see things like a packs of brightly-colored cyclists. Seriously, our main kit colors are pink, red, and green. How do you miss that?

Other than that, the ride was a complete success. Er.
