Team Escape Velocity Cycling Club

Hi, and thanks for your interest in Team Escape Velocity!

The Escape Velocity Cycling Club has promoted fun, active, and safe participation in the sport of bicycle racing since 1989. We compete, with a focus on developing athletes in road, track, BMX and cyclocross. Our particular focus is on youth development through the dEVo program for cadet, junior, and U23 riders.

We also do a lot of event organization, staging more races than any other club in BC with the popular Spring Series races in March, the World Tuesday Night Championships from May to September, as well as hosting the Warp Speed ITT and TTT events, and a cyclocross race in the fall. Escape Velocity also was the proud organizer of the epic BC Classic Stage Race, one of the most ambitious stage races for amateur road cycling ever held in the province.

We do a lot of volunteering, working to support racing and build the scene for the future. If you are just looking for other fast riders to race with while wearing the same jersey, we're probably not the club for you; if you are looking for a way to give back to the sport and grow the next generation of amazing cyclists, and having a lot of fun doing it, then come join us for some club rides or chat with any of us at races or when you see us out training. We share a passion for racing, and we work together as a team both on and off the bike.

Finally, we recognize that we are all very visible ambassadors for the sport. The club is proud of its image as one of the "friendly faces" of cycling in the Lower Mainland and our members represent cycling professionally and in an open, positive way.
